Paddle Cymru is the delivery centre for all British Canoeing Awarding Body (BCAB) qualifications and awards and operates under the guidance and scrutiny of BCAB.
As a delivery centre, Paddle Cymru is responsible for the recruitment, training and monitoring of all assessors and verification of assessment decisions, and for quality assurance processes and standardisation procedures. Paddle Cymru is also responsible for the administration of courses and certification of learners.
Our supporting policies and procedures can be found below.
Paddle Cymru recognises that many learners may have relevant experiences and qualifications from other sports, work and qualifications from other training providers. We aim to recognise your experience through the Accredited Prior Learning (APL) service. Some of these have already been mapped by British Canoeing Awarding Body and can be found in Appendix 1.
It is the expectation of Paddle Cymru that the experience of our Learners and Providers will be positive and that you will be treated fairly and without discrimination. We recognise that this may not always be the case and set out below our appeals procedure.
Good Coaches ensure participants in paddlesport have positive experiences and are therefore more likely to continue in the sport and achieve their potential. Coaches should therefore ensure they demonstrate a high degree of honesty, integrity and competence at all levels.
Our goal is to give excellent service to all of our members, but we recognise that occasionally things do go wrong. We take all complaints we receive seriously and aim to resolve all of our members’ problems promptly. To ensure that we provide the kind of service you should expect of us, we welcome your feedback.
